In the mid nineties, initiated by potential users, we started development of OnyxCeph™ in close collaboration of  medical scientists and developers experienced in different fields of digital image processing.  Since that time the software has continuously been upgraded and adapted to the current state of the technology while since an early state of the development we've been concentrated on a flexible client/server multiuser application with an efficient SQL database.

In the course of the preceding proliferation of practicable imaging techniques for 3D diagnostics and considerable improvement in the field of graphics processors in customary PC systems the qualitative demands on concept, functionality and features of dental imaging software increased.  In addition the changed organizational conditions in dental institutions had do be considered.  We met this situation by the development of the main version 3 of OnyxCeph™ .

As regards content, beside revision and upgrading of the established 2D functionality, OnyxCeph³™ allows cephalometric measurements and visual planning by means of 3-dimensional records, such as CT scans, face scans and virtual models. Furthermore, the user interface was completely reworked in close collaboration with long-time users as to ergonomic aspects and in terms of standardized work routines, so that the use of the diverse program options got more lucid and easier.
